JLG’s low-level access machines are now available in the Asian market, designed to boost workplace productivity. The company has also launched an operator safety training in Malaysia to improve safety standards in the industry.

JLG’s low-level access lifts, which are now being introduced in Asia, include four push-around machines – the Power Tower, the Nano, the PecoLift and EcoLift – and three self-propelled lifts – Nano SP Zero, Nano SP and Nano SP Plus. The platform heights range from 1.5 to 3.10 m.

These low-level access lifts are designed for excellent safety, low noise and easy manoeuvrability. They are intuitive to operate and ideal for use in indoor areas for a host of trades in construction, maintenance and facility work. The lifts dramatically reduce effort and increase efficiency when compared with mechanical manual alternatives such as ladders and scaffoldings, and give operators the ability to use both hands on the job.

The JLG EcoLift recently made its appearance at the IPAF Asia Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which took place between 18 and 19 July 2018. The machine is equipped with the innovative ‘Patented Stored Power System’ that requires no batteries, no power and no hydraulic oil, making it easy to use and environment-friendly.

The JLG 660SJ boom lift was also displayed at the IPAF Asia Conference. It features a platform capacity of 340 kg and has a small footprint, which allows it to be shipped in a 40-ft-high cube container, thus reducing shipping cost. The 660SJ is one of the most popular models in JLG’s 600-series boom lift range.

New operator safety training\r\n

As part of its efforts to improve safety standards in the industry, JLG has also launched a series of training courses in Malaysia. Besides free online product training courses, operators can also sign up for operator safety training conducted by JLG’s appointed distributors in Malaysia – TH Tong Heng Machinery and Aerial Lift & Equipment. Using classroom-based tutorials, demonstrations, hands-on training and assessments, these courses aim to help operators to safely use MEWP/AWP equipment.

“JLG has collaborated with several partners in the industry and is analysing data and developing tools to ensure the safety of its operators,” says Mr Bhatia. “With an eye to building the safe workplace of the future, we are investing in technologies around aspects that range from operator injury prevention to workplace accident avoidance.”

The IPAF Asia Conference & Showcase 2018 will take place for the first time in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 18 and 19 July, in collaboration with the Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM).

The IPAF Asia Conference & Showcase 2018 will take place for the first time in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 18 and 19 July. Hosted at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in the city centre, alongside the ASEAN M&E Show 2018, it will provide an opportunity to meet and network with industry colleagues and to gain business insight about the powered access industry, especially in Asia.

\r\n

The event is organised and run by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF). This year, the Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) will be the event co-organiser. The MBAM plays an important role in the development and advancement of the construction industry, with 14,594 members in Malaysia.

The main conference will be held on 19 July, featuring a comprehensive line-up of local and international speakers on a range of different topics, including:

Other speakers will include Tim Whiteman, IPAF CEO and managing director; Nick Selley, IPAF president; Angel Ibanez, IPAF global representative for MCWPs & related products; and Andrew Delahunt, IPAF director of technical & safety.

On 18 July there will be a welcome cocktail reception followed by a gala dinner – tickets are only available to conference attendees. The product showcase will be staged on both 18 and 19 July.

In 2017, more than 300 delegates from across Asia and further afield attended the IPAF Asia Conference in Changsha, China – the first one to be held in the country. The event also saw the delegates sign a pledge to equip all operators of boom-type MEWPs with a safety harness.
