Seoul, South Korea – Oper8 Global Asia and Daton have announced a multi-year collaboration to develop, deploy and support Daton’s AI-based computer vision safety control and energy efficiency management systems for data centres in South Korea and across Asia-Pacific. The partnership was signed at Data Centre World Asia 2024, a two-day conference held recently at Marina Bay Sands Singapore.

Daton has developed AI-based analysis and anomaly detection technologies for video surveillance systems that have a range of applications in public safety, disaster and accident prevention, crime detection and prevention, workplace health and safety, and to monitor and prevent potential disasters in building facilities and data centres. Daton’s AI data anomaly detection solutions are also being developed to defend data centres from external cybersecurity attacks and to optimise the power usage of data centres through intelligent and automated energy management systems.

“As the demand for AI and other high-performance compute workloads multiplies exponentially, it is putting massive pressure on data centre environments and equipment worldwide. Daton has developed industry-leading technology that will have a fundamental impact not just on the safety and security of data centre operations and facilities, but also on their sustainability and energy efficiency. We are excited with the potential of Daton’s technology; these are two of the key areas in a multi-faceted approach that is urgently needed to ease data centre pressure in the age of AI,” said Simon Gardner, CTO, Oper8 Global.

“Oper8 Global Asia is an ideal partner for us in South Korea and to take our solutions worldwide. They have a strong track record and impressive heritage in designing and building cutting-edge data centre infrastructure. More than that, Oper8 Global Asia understands holistically the broader context within which a data centre operates; its environmental footprint, security, cost, and its ability to meet the needs of the organisation using it,” said Ki-Jung Choi, Co-CEO and General Counsel, Daton.
