Lighting design consultancy opens ninth studio worldwide.

Miami, USA – Light Directions announces its expansion in the Americas, with Studio Lead Luc Hediger overseeing efforts from its new flagship in Miami. This move follows the recent launch of studios in London and Dubai, positioning the global lighting design consultancy for continued success and sustainable growth in targeted opportunity markets.

Hediger brings more than a decade of experience in theatrical and architectural lighting design to Light Directions, where he is currently working on projects throughout North America, the Caribbean, Africa and Europe. Most recently, Hediger served as design director at Yabu Pushelberg, leading a team of lighting designers on award-winning hospitality, residential and retail projects worldwide.

Elements of theatricality and drama in Hediger’s designs reflect influences from his formative years in stage production and event lighting, from classic Shakespeare plays and Broadway musicals to a touring dance theatre and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

His venture into architectural lighting began under the internationally acclaimed lighting designer Tino Kwan. While at the eponymous Asia-based design firm, Hediger led the lighting design of The Murray Hong Kong, the transformation of a historic landmark building into a five-star hotel, among a variety of high-end hospitality and residential projects. Hediger refined his project management skills and cross-discipline approach to design during his tenure at WeWork. There, he oversaw the design and opening of more than 40 locations across the Asia Pacific region as part of the company’s rapid expansion plans.

Hediger earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre at Loyola Marymount University with an emphasis in theatrical design.
