Victoria, Australia – Australian decorative lighting brand, Rakumba, and esteemed Australian designer, Adam Goodrum, are excited to present their first-ever lighting collaboration, entitled Hangman. A nostalgic nod to the universally recognised analogue game of ‘Hangman’, the light is an exercise in playful design and simple, yet magically executed geometry.

“Hangman channels light through the most minimal structure, while giving a high degree of functionality via numerous positions and light directions,” said Mr Goodrum of the collection, which encompasses a table lamp, floor lamp and ceiling pendant.

The concept for the collection came from Adam Goodrum’s enduring fascination with mechanisms and geometry. His process of conception began with free-sketching and an exploration of geometric interaction.

“What arose was an “analogue game bound by geometric rules,” added Mr Goodrum.

Rakumba Head of Design, Dan Treacy, said Hangman embodies the effortless complexity typified by Rakumba. “It is a piece that charms with a mischievous edge but hiding below the surface is a rigorously considered product. Somewhere between that innovation and distinctive form, Hangman has the potential to be a future design icon,” said Mr Treacy.
